My Eagle Project - Rebel's Dog Park

Donation protected
My name is Brennan Seay, I am a student at Harford Technical High School and a member of Boy Scout Troop 265 in Forest Hill, Maryland.  My troop is part of the Harford District in the Baltimore Area Council.  I am a Life Scout and currently working on my Eagle rank.  The Eagle rank is the highest rank in the Boy Scouting program.  As part of the requirements to obtain this Eagle badge, I must propose, develop and execute a leadership service project to benefit my community and one that will have a lasting impact on my community.

I have a passion for animals and therefore for my project, I will be making improvements to reopen the Rebel’s Dog Park at the Harford County Humane Society in Fallston, Maryland.  Rebel’s Dog Park originally open in November 2006, but it was closed and used as a construction road during the building of the new shelter facility for the Humane Society.  These improvements will include: constructing a 20-foot x 20-foot brick paver court yard which will be enclosed by a 4-foot fence and will include 4 brick pillars for support, a brick paver walkway will also be installed from the court yard to the parking lot, there will be double-gated entries for both the small dog area and the large dog area of the dog park.

Here are some pictures of the current condition of Rebel's Dog Park - http://bit.ly/1Vq1jXV

I am hoping that this project will be the catalyst for other service projects to help make Rebel’s Dog Park a fun and relaxing park for the dogs of Harford County as well as their owners.  I am hoping that with the reopening of Rebel’s Dog Park, it will bring in local families to increase the awareness of the new animal shelter for the Harford County Humane Society and the animals there that need a forever home.

I have received a generous brick paver donation from Hanover Architectural Products however funding is still necessary in order to complete my project.  As of this posting, I am in still in the fundraising stage of the project which is estimated to cost $6500.  My goal is to raise enough money so that I can begin this project in the Fall of 2016.  I hope to complete my fundraising goals no later than September 1st.  Any funds raised above and beyond the project costs will be used to purchase additional items such as trash receptacles, leash holders and other items needed in a community dog park.

Your support and generosity will be greatly appreciated.  If you are unable to donate any funds but wish to help me earn my rank of Eagle Scout, I will post updates including work sessions for those that wish to donate their time and skills.

This project will require renting equipment, tools, lots of building supplies, and hours of human help.  With your donation, you can make this project successful.  Please consider making a donation to my Eagle Project.  Thank you for helping me achieve my dream of becoming an Eagle Scout!

Sincerely,

Brennan Seay
