Reana’s Bilateral Mastectomy Fund
Donation protected
3 years ago, I was unsatisfied with who I was as a person. I was at one of my lowest points in life and I couldn’t figure out why. I was stumped. 2 years ago, after a lot of my own research, I came across the term “gender dysphoria”. Gender dysphoria is the feeling of one’s gender identity conflicting with their assigned sex at birth. I’ve never resonated so much with a feeling. It was at that moment, I figured out why I felt so off. 1 year ago, I came out as female-to-male transgender and just 10 months ago, I started testosterone. Ever since then, I have never been so happy.
Though, I feel like it’s time for me to take another step forward. That is why I’ve started this fund. Bilateral Mastectomy, also known as top surgery, is a procedure that most FtMs push for. My plan is to get my procedure done by Dr. Scott Mosser in San Francisco, California. While I’m well-aware $7000 is not easy to raise, i’ve worked so hard to make it this far with money coming from my own pockets. I have no health insurance and I am a part-time worker and part-time student studying to become a nurse. By donating to this fund, It would help me finally feel at home in my own body and I am so ready for that to happen.
