Send RCRD to NA East Cup!

Donation protected
Now that the rankings are public we can finally announce that Royal City Roller Derby has made it into the FIRST EVER North America East Continental Cup.

In August our charter team, the Brute-Leggers, will travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan to compete with eleven other top-level WFTDA teams from across North America. This is the first time in RCRD history that we’ve had any kind of post-season play.

We couldn’t be more excited, but we are asking for your help to get us there.

Each of our skaters will drive between 5000 and 7000 km to and from games this summer, and spend between 8 and 12 nights in hotels as a result. We love this sport and are thrilled to be part of RCRD's growth, but the costs of travel and the impact of missed days at work add up quickly. We depend on fundraising throughout the year to help subsidize the out-of-pocket cost to skaters, and are asking for your help to help pitch in and get us to our final games of 2018.

We are super proud of what the team has accomplished so far this season.

Highlights from 2018 include:

-Our charter team, the Brute-Leggers, faced their toughest-ever opponents, including Naptown Roller Derby’s Tornado Sirens, (currently ranked 33rd), Edmonton’s E-ville Dead (3rd ranked team in Canada), and some tough international competition from England and Sweden.

-Moved up ten places in the international WFTDA rankings, finishing as the 53rd place team of more than 300.

-Our B-team, the Rum Rollers, went undefeated in Bloomington, Indiana to win the 2018 B-Cup.

-The Rums also won 8 of their 9 games this season, improving on their amazing 7 in 8 record from 2017.

-We hosted our own invitational, Royal Brawl, and brought teams from 8 leagues to Guelph for a great weekend of derby

What do my donations cover?

We use fundraising dollars to offset the cost of shared hotels and gas expenses. Everything helps but we do have some suggested donation levels:

$5 - covers road tolls & gets one carload across the Peace Bridge and into the USA!

$15 -covers a typical gas share for 1 skater (one-way).

$30 -covers one skater’s gas share (two-way).

$50 -shared hotel room for the night for 1 skater.

$120 -sponsor a car! Gets a whole line to and from the Cup.

$200 -buy a room! One night hotel rental for roomful of skaters.

$500 -buy a room FOR THE WHOLE CUP. Covers the cost of a hotel room for a whole line of skaters. Wow-wee!

We really mean it when we say everything counts. Thank you!
