Glass is something that comes to you like speaking, writing, and walking. I believe that most glass artists can attest to this. My passion for glass goes far beyond the process of making beautiful art. To me, the beauty lies within the entire process from start to finish. There is nothing as satisfying to me as creating a batch of glass from scratch; Choosing each one of my raw materials ever so carefully to achieve my desired results.
After beginning working for Spectrum Glass Company i quickly realized that one day i wanted to produce glass of my own,and have a hot shop to work my material.This dream is now a reality. Spectrum has sold to Oceanside glass and there is an urgent and immediate need for cullet on the west coast. I have the knowledge, team, half of the necessary equpiment, and space. Why not produce cullet for more than just myself?
The factory is ready for renovation, and the gallery renovations are nearly complete. im so close to going into full production. If i can generate funding to expedite the construction of my day tanks and complete renovations, i project to have Arlington Glass cullet commercially available by September 2017. This is an extremely expensive and ambitious endeavor My $5000 goal, in actuality, is only a very small portion of what i will need to make my vision a reality. I have estimated a total of $250,000 more to create a state of the art facility. This business will not only provide many jobs, but it will also supply the glass community with the product we need. At Arlington Glass Studios we are proud to preserve the unique history and culture of glassmaking. Our aim is to set the standard in COE 96 glass cullet by providing artists worldwide with premium quality cullet. Our new manufacturing plant, hot shop, and gallery will bring many visitors into the town of Arlington, and be a sought after destination for all glass artists and enthusiasts. I will be offering classes, demos, artist talks, and residencies in the near future.
