Rare Cancer Diagnosis (Stage 4)

My name is Yesenia Alvarez & I am 19 years old. I recently got diagnosed with stage 4 sarcoma cancer. To be more specific, alveolar soft tissue sarcoma. It is a very rare type of cancer, representing only 0.2-1% of all diagnosed cancers. Unfortunately, the cancerous tumor in my calf has metastasized to my lungs and brain, resulting in a couple of health issues. I recently underwent a craniotomy to remove the largest of the two tumors in my brain. Next week, I will begin radiation treatment to attack the leftover tumor. Soon after, I’ll start chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted therapy to attack the tumors in my lungs, brain, and calf. The goal is to shrink the tumor in my leg to be able to surgically remove it. For this to be accomplished, there are numerous scans and treatments left to be done while battling cancer. These procedures require a lot of money that my family does not have. Therefore, I am humbly asking for donations to fund the treatments and surgeries that I’ll need to beat cancer. Mi nombre es Yesenia Alvarez y tengo 19 años. Recientemente me diagnosticaron cáncer de sarcoma en etapa 4. Para ser más específica, sarcoma de tejido blando alveolar. Es un tipo de cáncer no muy común. Representa solo el 0.2-1% de todos los cánceres diagnosticados. Desafortunadamente, el cancer se a extendido a mis pulmones y cerebro, lo que ha resultado en algunos problemas de salud como migrañas severas y doble vision. Recientemente me hicieron una craneotomía para quitar el más grande de los dos tumores en mi cerebro. La próxima semana, comenzaré el tratamiento de radiación para atacar el tumor sobrante. Poco después, comenzaré con quimioterapia, inmunoterapia y terapia dirigida para atacar los tumores en los pulmones, el cerebro y la pantorrilla. El objetivo es reducir el tumor en mi pierna para poder extirparlo quirúrgicamente. Para que esto se logre, quedan numerosos escaneos y tratamientos para combatir el cáncer. Estos procedimientos requieren mucho dinero que mi familia no tiene. Por lo tanto, solicito humildemente donaciones para financiar los tratamientos y cirugías que necesitaré para vencer el cáncer.
