Raquel Delgado Funerary Expenses

Raquel was a very loving mother, and almost everything I do in my life has been because of her constant encouragement and unwavering support.
She always threw me the biggest birthday parties growing up, renting out buildings and making the party games herself. One year, she made and painted a Cookie Monster beanbag toss game. Another year, she dressed up as a clown to hand out balloons and cake. And while I was occasionally embarrassed by all this, her creativity and fun energy were always infectious.

Holidays with Mom were always fun and different, too. Instead of hiding eggs at Easter, my mom hid tiny dinosaur toys for me to find. They would be all over the house, and we'd have to look together in order to find them all.

She was also so involved with my education. She made sure I did my homework, and always helped me as best she could. Sometimes we would stay up late together finishing projects, and other times she would send me to bed while she finished them up for me - just so I'd get a good night's sleep. Then, she'd come to school the next day to watch me present the project.

When I was involved in sports, my mom was the loudest cheerleader in the crowd. I could pick her out every time.

My mother loved the outdoors, and fishing especially. Her adventures were many, and often hilarious. More often than not, she would end up falling into the water after trying to reel in an energetic fish, and then try to chase after it. It was always fun, even though the fish tended to get away.

The cold didn't stop her either; mom loved sledding. Once, she was so excited that she somehow ended up sledding down the hill backwards in the innertube, screaming at the top of her lungs since she couldn't get control of it. She was terrified at the time, but even she was laughing about it afterwards. Mom was always a good sport like that.

She taught me to draw, and to paint. And now art is the foundation of my life's work. All thanks to her patience, and passion, and unwavering encouragement.

Raquel Delgado passed away in the early morning on January 2nd, 2017. For the past ten years, she had been battling complications that resulted from a stroke. Despite all of this, she was very strong, and always had a smile on her face. Just like she gave her all to me, she also gave herself to others and always managed to brighten their day. She never let her heart condition stop her from living her life.

And now, the rest of her surviving family and I would like help in honoring that wonderful, selfless, spirited life that she shared with us.

Due to a misunderstanding with the care facility that has lovingly assisted my mother during the past decade, funds that we had believed were being set aside for my mother are not available to cover her funeral expenses. Due to the unexpected nature of these expenses, any
help with honoring her final wishes would be greatly appreciated.

My mother knew that she wanted to be buried when her time came, and so all funds raised will go towards necessary expenses related to her burial, as well as the expenses of the funeral service itself.

My wonderful mother, Raquel Delgado's, funeral will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 1pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Laramie, Wyoming. She will then be laid to rest in Greenhill Cemetery.

Thank you so much for your time and support. May we all be able to honor my mother by being kind to our neighbor, thoughtful of strangers, and loving towards everyone.
