#Heroes4Maggie is a campaign to raise funds to support the needs of an amazing little girl named Maggie, who was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). SMA is a disease that robs children of physical strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat, or breathe.
Maggie needs a good wheelchair ramp to help her mommy and daddy get her power chair into their van so that she gets to go and do things just like other kids do!
If just 40 people made a $20 donation, she could have her wheelchair ramp.
Maggie is now almost 3 years old and while she may not be able to run and play like most children, that shouldn't stop her from doing anything and everything that she wants to do. But right now, that is a problem.
Maggie was blessed with an incredible electric wheelchair that helps her get around. With her adorable pink chair, Maggie can play with her big brother around the house, at the park, take trips to the store, trips to the zoo, and anything else you think a 3 year old would want to do.
Except she can't. Why? Because her wheelchair weighs 250 pounds. Getting her chair into the van is a huge struggle. So this amazing family is not able to go and do things like they should be able to.
Having this ramp would allow this family to take spur of the moment trips to fun places or simply take Maggie to the store with them. When Maggie visits friends and family, she is not able to take her chair. Because if the house has stairs to get in or out, it is impossible to get the chair up them. This ramp will eliminate that issue as well!
We need your help! It is time that Maggie, her big brother, and her parents are able to take Maggie places without such an enormous struggle.
