This is 4 year old Randy Nedow. this sweet little four year old boy from Peterborough, Ontario has a terminal illness called Chediak-Higashi Syndrome (CHS). It is an extremely rare form of partial albinism that is accompanied by problems in the immune and nervous systems.

This specific type of albinism also causes vision problems such as sensitivity to light, reduced sharpness, and involuntary eye movement. There have been fewer than 200 reported cases of CHS around the world, according to the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH, 2012). Most children with the classic form of CHS die within the first 10 years of their lives as a result of chronic infections or organ failure. Some children do live longer than 10 years.


His family needs our help. This amazing young family is struggling to support themselves. dedicated full time to the constant care of their son, they are travelling 1-2 times a week from Peterborough to Toronto and their family car has died and is beyond repair. The round trip to Toronto is approximately 200km and the cost of gas and parking often leaves them with limited choice between their son's urgently needed care and paying utilities and buying food. Now they have no car and are missing key appointment.

No family should have to face what they are, and with the added burden of financial hardship makes this even more tragic. 100% of the money raised will go directly to supporting Randy and his medical needs and to help this amazing family survive.
