Raising funds for Sand Mandala at Unity of Sedona

Tax deductible

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money for The Gaden Shartse Monastery, and any donation will help make an impact. $20 FEEDS 1 MONK FOR 1 MONTH or $ 20 MAINTAINS  ALL THAT 1 MONK NEEDS FOR 2 WEEKS.  An estimated $1.50 (USA) is needed to maintain one monk for one day and that includes a portion of food ($0.60.), education materials and a small weekly stipend for necessities. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to the community and the monks!

The monks will be creating the Maitreya Sand Mandala (Buddha of Love) at Unity of Sedona from April 21st to the  26th.  Maitreya is a bodhisattva who will appear on Earth in the future. The word maitrī is derived from Sanskrit which means "Boundless Love & Kindness“.   This is a FREE EVENT and open to the public daily 9am-4:30pm.  Visit daily to watch the Sand Mandala take shape, learn more about Tibetan art, or simply sit and meditate!

Opening Ceremony: Sunday, April 21st  at 2:00 pm.
Closing Ceremony: Friday, April 26th at 11:00 am.
At the closing ceremony, small bags of sand will be distributed to the audience to take home with you.

100% of your donated funds go to the monks!  Any funds raised through this campaign will go directly to the certified charity : The Gaden Shartse Cultural Foundation via Gofundme.  Anything above and beyond our goal of $1000 goes to the monks!  All these donations go back to the monastery and used to take care of 1500 monks paying their food, housing, and education.  Gaden Shartse is a non-profit Foundation at Monastery all tuition-free for all, not only food, clothing, housing, but also texts are provided free of cost.

An estimated $1.50 (USA) is needed to maintain one monk for one day and that includes a small weekly stipend for necessities. This represents vast sums of money for over 1500 monks, every day. The Gaden Shartse Monastery is a Tibetan Refugee Settlement in Mundgod, India.

Aspects of the funds maybe also are used to pay for the monks' tour and visits (transportation costs, vehicle, meals, promotion, supplies, and other essentials).

Help us show the monks how much we appreciate their visit, their art and culture, and their compassionate presence.
