Thoroughbred Racing Community:
Please help out our dear friend, Roddy, who was seriously injured in a morning training accident at the Fairgrounds Racetrack in Louisiana on Monday January 7th.
Roddy was breezing a horse early in the morning when a loose horse collided with his head on and at full speed. Sadly, this resulted in both horses being immediately euthanized. Roddy was taken to a nearby hospital with several broken bones. He has already underwent surgical procedures to reconstruct his femur, tibia, fibula and ankle. Tomorrow he will undergo surgery to repair his left arm which has had every bone broken in it. In addition, he had soft tissue injuries which are anticipated to take an extensive amount of time and therapy to heal.
Despite his physical ailments, Roddy is in decent spirits. Everyone who knows him, realizes he is tough and is especially stubborn.
Roddy is faced with a long road to recovery. Please consider donating to help him with his expenses while he is out of commission, unable to work, and going through physical therapy. His prognosis is unknown and it is unclear if he will need additional related surgeries in the future.
The racing community is a tight-knit one and every little bit helps. There is certainly no donation too big or small. Let us pull together and take care of our own.
