Raeven's Study Abroad Trip to Ghana

Hello, my name is Raeven. I attend school at the University of Louisville in the School of Public Health & Information Sciences. As I embark on my last remaining semester (Spring 2017), I have decided that I do not only want to immediately begin utilizing all of the skills that I have learned in my years at U of L, but I also would like to devote my time volunteering in community service initiatives. Ghana is a developing country in Africa who is facing social and infrastructural consequences resulting from war. Although I am involved in community service in Louisville, Kentucky and give whenever I am able too; applying my sevices to a large population in need will have a significant impact in improving the quality of life for mankind as a whole. With the group that I will be coordinating with during the trip, we intend to allievate some of these societial stresses by working with local service groups in Ghana directly. I will receive additional details during the beginning of the new year and will update this as soon as the information comes in. The fundraising goal displayed is only but half of the funding that is necessary to be apart of this wonderful and engaging trip. The professor leading the trip informed us that the trip is all inclusive and will include everyting that is needed (except for personal spending money). Many college students do not know where to start or what to do after they graduate. I would like to begin my out of college experience with something meaningful and relation to my major. Having a hands on experience is crucial for students, especially right after successfully achieving a long-term goal gaining a college diploma. I would love for my first experience after graduating to be something as huge as this. The deadline for all fees is due March 27, 2017. The date will be here before I know it. Time goes by so fast now-a-days. It is very much needed and appreciated if you will invest in a college student's education and actions in committing to assisting others for a living.
