Hello Friends and Family,
Hello, friends! My name is Rachel Lanaye Woods I am a sophomore at Sweet Briar College. I am a dance major and am on the track of getting my MAT so I can teach dance. My bigger goal outside of college is to give lower-income dancers an opportunity to dance in a studio that doesn't break the bank. Also to teach dance in public high-school because I feel the arts are an important way to keep younger people out of trouble.
In July of 2018, my dance department is planning a trip to Adelaide Australia for the 2nd joint congress of daCi (dance and the Child international) and WDA (World Dance Alliance) Global Education and Training Network. Mark Magruder and Ella Magruder (my fantastic dance Professors) Once we arrive, we will be assistants to our professors and get to meet performers from all over the world.
I am very grateful for you taking interest in helping me experience a life-changing experience. Anything helps, but I need your help to complete my goal. I have been doing wonderfully in college, I work for my dance professor as his assistant. I also work as a children's dance teacher and teach 2 dance classes ages 11 and up and 4-5-year-olds. I have always wanted to travel and now I have the chance too!
Whoever helps I will personally send out pictures from my wonderful adventure!
