RACHEL’S CANCER STORY

My name is Lisa, and I am Rachel’s sister. Both myself and her very dear friend Caitlin, were beside ourselves to find out the news that  would forever change our Rachel’s life. On December 29th Rachel and Dave welcomed a beautiful baby girl. Two weeks later Rachel went to the ER for what was believed to be Gallstones. A CT later revealed something extremely rare to adults called an Intussusception of her bowels. That was secondary to a mass. Rachel later that day underwent a bowel resection, and removal of the mass; her second abdominal surgery in two short weeks. Her first was her C-section.  A day short of a week later, the pathology results showed Rachel has stage three colon cancer. This fundraiser is being put together to alleviate some of the financial burden that will arise within the weeks and months to come.  She has had her chemo port put in, and she will start her fight to be around for her beautiful family shortly. Rachel is an amazing mommy (of two), wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. We want her only focus to be on kicking cancers A*S! And if anyone can do it, it’s her.
