Clan Mother Rachelle's Medical Fund

After returning from Standing Rock, ND in mid- December, 2016,  ClanMother Rachelle Figueroa began experiencing flu-like symptoms, which continued on and off for 6 weeks. By the end of January, she had lost considerable weight from not being able to eat and was admitted to the hospital on Jan. 31st. After undergoing numerous tests and scans she was informed she had a tumor on her colon that would require emergency surgery. Although the surgery was successful, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer, along with additional spots on her liver & possibly lungs.

Because of her Traditional beliefs, Unci (Grandmother) Rachelle, immidately started extensive research into alternative, holistic treatments for cancer, instead of the conventional, toxic chemotherapy or radiation. With the support of Holistic doctors she has begun an intense, alternative regimen with a strict, organic plant-based diet, ongoing holistic treatments and Traditional Medicine practitioners.

Unfortunately, no health insurance company in California covers alternative treatments, which means that she must pay out of pocket for her entire regimen.  At the insistance of friends and family, and with gratitude and humbleness, Unci Rachelle, is now turning to her community for financial support  so that she might continue her life-saving treatments.

Without expectations for anything but prayers and healing support, she would like to thank everyone ahead of time who is moved to contribute financially to support her urgent healing process. Any amount is deeply appreciated, and will make a positive impact during this challenging time.

In addition, Clan Mother would like to thank all of you who have supported her though this challenging time, your energy and care is greatly appreciated, whether it be simple prayers or driving her to her many doctor appointments, or bringing her organic fruits, veggies, juices and healing herbs.  This time has made her ever grateful for her community an Unci will continue sending her prayers and blessings to each of you and your families for your generosity and loving support.

May we all remember to Walk in Beauty on our Mother Earth.    Shonabish.   Mni Wiconi.

Pilamaya & Thank you.

About Clan Mother Rachelle Figueroa:

Clan Mother Rachelle Figueroa is the Grand Matriarch of the Choctaw-Muskogee-Yamassee Nation and is herself of Arapaho and Tarascan lineage. She is a Traditional Practitioner, Sundancer and Sweat Lodge facilitator of the Lakota Tradition and a Carrier of the Sacred Staff of Peace and Unity of the Mayan Council of El Salvador.

Clan Mother is also the Founder and Executive Director of  www.TheMorningStarFoundation.org, which has been based in Los Angeles, CA, since 2002 and is committed to educating and creating public awareness for the protection and preservation of Native/Indigenous Nations, and supporting the needs of Native/Indigenous Traditional Elders, Women & Youth. MSF's service is preserving Native/Indigenous Traditions, ceremonies, songs, language, sacred sites, sacred burial grounds and Mother Earth.

From 2006 to 2009, MSF held International GrandMother Gatherings, bringing Traditional Elder Wisdom-Keepers together from around the globe. GrandMother Rachelle was asked to gather the Sacred Waters from around Mother Earth to help be in alignment with the Mayan prophesy of this time; embracing "The Voice and Leadership of the Feminine".  These gatherings were held for all Women, who traveled from all 4 Directions, for the needed healing of the Sacred Hoop of the Women Nation, for our endangered Mother Earth and for Peace, Unity and Love for all our "Relations" of all Cultures and Faiths.

In 2014 & 2015, Clan Mother was asked to caretake the "Sacred Staff of Peace and Unity", from the Mayan Council of El Salvador. GrandMother Rachelle travelled with the Staff throughout California, Turtle Island (USA) and India. After 2015 the Sacred Staff returned to Her homeland of El Salvador. MSF is blessed to still be of service to the Mayan Council of El Salvador and the Sacred Staff of Peace and Unity.

Sacred Staff of Peace and Unity Ceremony, 2015

In October of 2016, Clan Mother was asked to come to the "Rosebud Camp" at Standing Rock, N.D. and help organize GrandMothers and Women from around Turtle Island, Canada, South America and Europe, to hold Women Circles, and Women Sweat Lodges.

On Oct. 27th., during a Traditional Elders Pipe Ceremony, across from Ancestral Burial Grounds, Clan Mother was violently arrested with 12 other Elders, while praying with their Sacred Items in Sacred Circle for a peaceful resolution to stopping the Dakota Access Pipeline from drilling under Lake Oahe. After being jailed for 3 days for peacefully protecting Mni Wiconi, our Sacred Water of Life, ClanMother became seriously inspired to help wherever needed and to specifically hold Ceremony and Sacred Circles for the Water Protectors.
In December, the Oyate Sakowan camp, RoseBud camp and Sacred Stone camp were demanded to close by Standing Rock Tribal Council, so GrandMother returned to California to continue supporting Standing Rock's mission and Morning Star Foundation projects.
