Rachel's Ovarian+Breast Cancer Fund

Meet my sister Rachel. She is a 29 year old mother to a beautiful rambunctious 6 year old boy + gorgeous all-around all-star 12 year old girl. She is a mother, wife, daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend and most importantly to me, my big sister.

Here is her story:

On December 3 2014, at the age of 29, she was diagnosed with invasive ductal lobular stage 2b grade 3 breast cancer.

Since that day, she has had a double mastectomy, 8 difficult rounds of chemotherapy, two reconstruction surgeries, 28 rounds of radiation therapy, and countless appointments. She has been triumphant through this entire life changing experience and has been an advocate for woman of all ages and backgrounds to be educated + aware of this awful disease.

Unfortunately just as we were celebrating her completion with breast cancer, she was given the news that she has a 5cm mass on her right ovary + needs immediate surgery. Again, she will likely repeat treatments + continue this fight against cancer.

This entire process has been very difficult for our family, especially for her family at home. They have been on one income for 10 months (her husbands) + plans to return to work have been pushed back yet again. Between medical cost + everyday essentials that come along with having a family, finances are becoming strained.

I made this fund to not only relieve her of some of her expenses, but to share her story with our friends, family, and people who we made not know.
