Donation protected

Rachel Childress was diagnosed with 2 kinds of Stage 4 Cancer in November the day before Thanksgiving 2016. She had gone to the Doctor because of difficulty beathing and immediately sent to the ER at Baylor Plano. There she spent almost 30 days being treated. She has been diagnosed with 2 types of Lyphoma. Double-Hit (Non-Hodgekin's and Follicular) In laymen's terms she has the fastest and the slowest growing kinds of Lymphoma. The combination is Richters transformation. The Follicular is closer to a Lukemia because it is inside all B blood cells. Rachel is the 7th person in North Texas in 10years to have this rare type of cancer diagnosed with all Texas Oncology. She was released for Christmas to spend at home with family. Then on New Year's Eve at 12:30am was rushed to the ER at Medical City in Dallas with further complications. She had several surgeries but recovered quickly and was relased again. Joshua and Rachel are temporarily living with Rachel's parents in Grapevine. They sold there home to finance treatment.
Rachel had 7 rounds of chemo from December2016-June2017.
Stem-cell/Bone marrow Allogeneic transplant is complete!  Rachel's younger sister Robin O'Bier was a 12 point identical twin match!
She will be in treatment for the next two years.

Any assistance the public can provide to help Rachel and Joshua on this journey is greatly appreciated. Cancer has affected every area of their life. Prayers needed especially for provision, peace, and healing! Thank you for visiting our site about Rachel's journey. Caring Bridge also has a weekly update about her journey.
