Rachel Arnold Fight Against Cancer

Rachel Holland Arnold

I am writing this on behalf of Rachel Arnold. Rachel- small business owner, L3 employee, volunteer, teacher, mother, wife, sister, and daughter. Rachel Elizabeth (Holland) Arnold was born on April 19th, 1985 to Byron and Pam Holland. She is the oldest of five siblings, with three younger brothers and one younger sister.

On October 19, 2013, she married the love of her life, Matt Arnold. They started a family together, on January 14, 2015, she gave birth to her first daughter Elaina. Elaina loves all things dance, princesses, and playing in the mud. On November 30, 2018, she and Matt welcomed Blakely into the world, the happiest/giggliest baby.

Rachel works at L3 Aerospace Systems and is the owner of Dance Prodigy Studios. She is an active member of the community in Greenville, Texas. She has hosted/volunteered for many charitable events: canned food drives, county fair salsa judge, chili cook-off, and numerous fundraising events-both through L3 and her dance studio. The studio has raised over $40,000 through the yearly charity recital.

On June 8, 2019, Rachel hosted her 9th annual dance recital. Four days later, on June 13, she was diagnosed with cancer. Specifically, stage 3 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma; a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer with a fast growth rate. Only about 10% of breast cancer diagnosed are triple-negative.  The cancer is also likely to return within the first 5 years and is usually genetic.

Triple-negative breast cancer is cancer that tests negative for estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, and excess HER2 protein. These results mean the growth of the cancer is not hormones, estrogen, progesterone,  or HER2 protein related. So, triple-negative breast cancer does not respond to hormonal therapy medicines or medicines that target HER2 protein receptors. Still, other medicines are used to successfully treat triple-negative breast cancer.

The cancer is in Rachel's chest wall and has infected her lymph nodes. This is the beginning of a long road for Rachel and her little family. Her doctors plan on being aggressive and acting as quickly as possible. Rachel will be starting or have already started chemo by the time you read this.  She will receive at least five months of chemo followed by possibly multiple surgeries.

Rachel and Matt will be facing significant challenges in the coming years. To ease the financial burden of treatment, medical bills, children, and incidentals that will arise without question during this difficult time, we are raising funds to help with expenses.  We ask that all donations be made during the chemo treatment period to allow Rachel and Matt to maintain focus on the treatment and their family. Every little bit helps.

Please keep Rachel, Matt, and their two little girls in your thoughts & prayers.

Rachel made a special request that we continue to support her dance studio. She sees it as the legacy she plans on leaving to her children. Please click here to like, and follow the Dance Prodigy Studios on Facebook.

A special thank you to Anisa Michelle Fenton who is helping raise funds for Rachel as well. Click here to check out the fantastic things she is making!
