My name is Cassie (pictured left) and I am raising money for my mother (pictured right) to be able to get her car road ready and legal to drive.
My grandmother left her this car, but it has continuously had problems and has often broken down many times over the last two years. When the car breaks down or has issues with tires, the only alternate means of transportation for either of us is by bicycle or foot. We live outside the city limits of our small town, so hauling groceries and laundry is a large burden. I don't know if you have ever traveled 5 miles round trip by bicycle or foot while carrying cat litter, cat food, or large piles of laundry, but it is quite the daily chore! With the suffocating Texas heat it can be unbearable.
Please consider donating $5 to help us reach our goal. I understand that everyone has their own struggles and obligations to honor and may not be able to help. If you are questioning whether or not we *deserve* help, I encourage you to reconsider that line of thought. We are simply in need and asking for a small act of kindness. It is often those whom we believe least deserve our kindness that, in fact, need our kindness the most.
All money raised will go toward tire repair/replace, tags, insurance, and minor repairs that, undoubtedly, will creep up when we least expect.
To reach our goal would vastly improve our quality of life. In a town of our size (~3k), there are no public transportation options and no taxi/Uber services. We feel stranded and stuck without a vehicle.
I don't know that words could express the gratitude we would feel to any and every one who could help us reach our goal. I believe with all my heart in the goodness of humanity and the kindness we can and do empart to one another. We all struggle.
