Operation Reel Heroes 2017

In 2017, Operation Reel Heroes, a nonprofit organization of approximately 120 volunteers, will hold its 3rd annual outing on Cape Cod in Yarmouth, Massachusetts. This will be a weekend event in which we hope to show our heroes a great day of boating and fishing on the waters of Nantucket Sound culminating with an awards dinner honoring our guests.
On Friday evening, June 2nd, a captains meeting will be held along with a meet and greet for the participants. Captains' bags will be given out and refreshments will be available.
On Saturday morning June 3rd, 50 men and women veterans and their guests will be transported to four separate loading spots on the Bass River in Yarmouth and Dennis. More than 50 private fishing boats and various support boats will depart Bass River for a day on the water. The boats will return early afternoon where the participants will be transported to the banquet and awards ceremony.
A total of approximately 250 people will attend the event, including our captains and crews; event support staff; volunteers from Operation Reel Heroes; Wounded Warrior Project staff; town, state and federal officials; and reporters from local newspapers, magazines, radio and TV media.
We are currently looking for sponsorship and donations to make this event even more successful than in years past. All donations are welcome and will be listed on our website, Facebook, and event literature. Our Corporate Partners and Platinum Sponsors will receive additional advertising and invitations to the event.
We expect media coverage from Cape Cod Broadcasting, On the Water Magazine and others. Our goal is to thank our veterans and to show them a great time.
