From his early years in the US Army to his years as President/CEO of the Healthcare Association of Hawaii and various boards during his retirement, Rich Meiers dedicated his life to healthcare administration. He took the idea of growing Hawaii’s next generation of healthcare leaders very seriously, always putting aside time to take students to lunch or help mentor those who approached him.
Upon his retirement from HAH, he asked for a scholarship be set up for Hawaii students interested in a healthcare administration.
As word has spread about his death people have asked how they could honor his memory and remember him and as family members the unanimous, first thought was of his scholarship. Donations may be made here by credit card on GoFundMe or directly at the Hawaii Community Foundation credit card portal (see HCF instructions below) or by check mailed directly to HCF. If you would like to make a donation but want to ensure you receive a tax acknowledgement letter for tax write-off purposes we suggest you donate directly through HCF.

Once on the “Give Directly Online” page, click “Search for a Specific Fund”
Enter the name of the fund you plan to contribute to
“Rich Meiers Health Administration Scholarship Fund”
Click the “search button” and follow the prompts to complete your gift
Please note that the incoming gift will be assessed a 2.6% merchant fee of the amount donated for the processing of credit card gifts
Donors will receive an immediate electronic tax acknowledgement email for their gift at the same email address they used to make their on-line gift
