At 34 years old, Dave is in for the fight of his life. On Friday February 5th Dave suffered a massive heart attack and only a few short hours later his heart attack caused Dave to have a severe stroke. Dave is currently in the U of A getting the best care he can with tons of support from his friends and family.
Dave’s recovery is nothing short of remarkable! His will and his drive is pushing him past hurdles that most people in his position would take months to overcome. With Jessica by his side the two are a power house determined to get there life back on track and this unfortunate tragedy behind them.
However, the road to recovery will be very long and as of now they have no clue as to when either will be back to work. On top of the bills that will start to pile up at home, they have the extra cost of fuel going back and forth to the hospital, food and beverages at the hospital for Jess, parking, not to mention the medical bills that they will be facing for years after. Jessica has had to take an unpaid leave from her work to help with Dave and with no insurances to speak of they will be trying to manage all of this with the little long term disability that Dave will be receiving from his work.
Dave and Jess are very proud people that would never ask for help but the people that know this couple know that they would help anyone in there time of need. They have raised funds year after year in Kinuso, organised Bashin’ at the Beach demolition derby, they have an open door policy at their home where they have helped numerous friends and family get back on their feet. Whether you need to move or throw a derby car together you can trust Dave to be there to give you a hand.
They need us now, they need your kind words, your thoughts and your prayers. They need your company either by a visit or a phone call. They need your compassion and your understanding, and at this time they need your help to make it possible for Jessica to be able to stay with Dave for as long as possible. I know for a lot of you in this economy it will be hard to donate but any little bit will help. Only give what you can, but please give.
