Qwyano Canoe Family 2017

We are the Qwyano-One Spirit-Canoe Family. We're an All Nation Canoe Family. We have invited Our Relations to join our Journey of healing and reclaiming our sacred water in our skin on frame sturgeon canoe, Numu. We are doing a variety of funding activities to help make this Journey possible.

We are comprised of: Cree, Metis, Nakota and Shuswap Nations from the head-waters of the Fraser River in the nothern Kanata Rocky Mountains, from the Village of the Caribou, Our family includes Military Veterans, Elders, Youth, as well as descendants of Oklahoma Choctaw and West Virginia Cherokee, to name a few Nations.

We are raising money to cover our travel costs and the sponsoring of our Brothers and Sisters from Haida Nation and other parts of Turtle Island to share our All Nation Vision and Mission of growing healthy communties  and healing ourselves and our families.

We are in desperate need of some saftey equipment for canoes and supplies to help make the trip north.


We are also  are in need of materials to complete construction on our second Cree style canoe.

Tribal Journeys is a truly unique opportunity. It enables healing, reconnection, recognition and growth for our Youth, our Elders and our Communities as a whole while addressing the negative affects of colonization, abuse and negligence upon indigenous peoples. We aspire to reclaim who we are as a people and resist that which we are not.

We are busy year round preparing  and practicing..

An entire Generation is being raised seeing traditional canoes and indigenous ways as daily happening. They are back on the water, on the land eating traditional foods, and sharing their living culture. This is a movement that has far reaching implications, not just for those on the Salish Sea, but from all over Turtle Island, and around the world awakening all to an indigenous way of being.
