"Purpose"

Hello my name is Bianca Trulli, and I am the founder and artistic director of Echo Dance Company (Echo Dance), an emerging dance company based in Toronto - our official debut was in March, 2016. The company was created with the intention of giving emerging artists the platform to perform in a professional manner, and for artists to gain experience and confidence through collaborating with other dancers. Further, Echo Dance strives to provide opportunities for young artists to learn and grow as dance artists. Echo Dance aims to challenge, expand, and redefine contemporary choreographic processes. Between June 19th-22nd, 2019, Echo Dance Company will be presenting their third full-length production at the Winchester Street Theatre (Toronto). The show, entitled “Purpose,” explores the deep, emotional connection one has with themself - we, as humans, are constantly looking for approval from others; and in doing so, we often forget who we are and what our purpose is in life. Thus, in “Purpose,” the dancers share their journeys of self-discovery: Accepting who they are, and everything they are.

Echo Dance Company’s  goal is to raise $5,000. The majority of funding for Echo Dance has come out of my own pocket. But, as a fairly new dance company, we are often in the position of needing to raise money from sponsors, social media campaigns, and ticket sales. Money raised from ticket sales and social media campaigns (e.g. gofundme) are allotted to the financial costs of production fees, venue fees, and marketing, as well as other crucial aspects of running a dance company. Therefore, we are looking for people such as yourself, and kindly ask if you would be interested in donating towards Echo Dance Company in preparation of our new show, “Purpose.” Any donation is greatly appreciated! To know that you are contributing to our company (e.g. costumes, studio space options, etc.) that would highly benefit not only myself, but my 9 hard-working dancers, as well,  is truly gratifying.

Echo Dance Company’s founding principle is our strong belief that movement is important, and is a wonderful method of expression. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to express themselves through movement, which is how our name was derived: Everyone Can Have Opportunities - all you have to do is trust in your artistry.
