"BIG SKY"

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,

As you all know, I am a graduate of the University of Southern California's School of Dramatic Arts and School of Cinematic Arts. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in acting and a minor in screenwriting for film and TV.

I have been pursuing acting post college, but have recently embraced my love and natural gift for writing. I just graduated from the Columbia University TV Writing Intensive, where I was one of 12 students selected out of a 104 global applicants.

At Columbia, I was, and still am, working tirelessly on my passion project, a "dramedy" (mixture of comedy/drama) TV pilot called "BIG SKY."

It is the story of a 23 yeard old girl, WREN, who moves home to her family's small dude ranch in rural Montana (not actual Big Sky, but they do call Montana "BIG SKY COUNTRY"!!) when she finds out her mother has cancer.

The story is of a young girl who is on a quest to find herself  through returning to her hometown, living with her family as an adult and experimenting with who she is. Though she is the protagonist, it is very much about the family, as well.

The theme I wish to explore is that in order to find yourself, you may have to lose who you "were."  Where do we all fit in? Where do we WANT to fit in? Who do WE want to be?

It is a deeply personal project and one that I am pouring my heart and soul into. As I embrace my career and passion as a writer and actress, I reflect on everything I've ever written and am confident that this is my project- the one I want to put my all into.

My  fellow classmate from Columbia who is represented by CAA  is going to come to Montana with me to direct, and we have an incredible director of photography coming in from Los Angeles.  I will be acting in it alongside two Montana locals and another actor friend who is also coming from Los Angeles.

We are going to be filming the TEASER , sort of like the appetizer, which we plan to bring to LA and pitch to networks and streaming companies like Hulu, Amazon and Netflix.

I have gotten such positive feedback from my classmates and teachers at Columbia- I would not embark on this journey if they didn't have the confidence that we could do this.

I would love if any of you could contribute to our shooting budget. Any amount, no matter what it may be, is so greatly appreciated and gets us one step closer to our goal.  We've assembled a really incredible, 90 percent local Montanan crew and are so excited to bring Big Sky to life.
