Chances are if you're living in or around the Emerald Coast you know who Ben Holland is. You probably know he's a beast on the volleyball court, & that he's engaged to the lovely Lynda Ruby , & that he's damn creative. You probably know he's loved by his family, adored by his friends (there's a lot of um), & that there's no strangers in his eyes... just friends he hasn't met yet.
What you may not know is the incredibly tough past 45 days he's had. That on 10/10, Hurricane Michael tore up his property or that he was displaced for weeks or that on 11/19 he had a massive heart attack that put him in the hospital for days.
You may not know these things because that's not what you'll hear him talk about, that's not where he chooses to linger. Instead of dwelling on how Hurricane Michael impacted HIS life, he chose to put others' needs first by giving his time and money to help where others needed a hand, going out every day to help put other people's lives back together. Instead of letting the heart attack set him back, he was eager to jump back on the courts & proceed as normal. That's what he's good at, he'll take any situation and make it better, shine light even when its looking pretty yuck.
Because of all that, this gofundme is for Ben. To let us give back to him for all the times he shared a beer, a smoke, a dollar, a smile, an encouraging word... now's our chance to give back to help with the hurricane and extreme medical expenses he incurred the past few weeks.
