WE NEED MONEY ..
The Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fai
r began in Belleville in 1960 at Moira Secondary school and the following year in 1961 the Rotary Club began its sponsorship. In 1965 a hobby show was added held at the Belleville Armouries when the fair moved there for the extra space. Several years ago the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair moved to Loyalist College . Loyalist College provides an excellent site to display and support the science students in our area who wish to present their scientific results to the public and the judges. Top entries were selected to participate in the Canada-wide Science Festival . The Quinte Regional Science Fair began sending students to the Canada-wide Science Fair in 1962, Over the years many entries from our science fair have won national recognition.
The science is held every year to promote science in the Quinte area and is in need of funds

Our organization has served and provided a stepping stone for the students in our area to succeed in the area of science. Many students have gone on to careers in science and are now engineers (robotics etc…), professors, doctors, and many other scientific fields. Many have returned to bring their expertise to our science fair as judges.

We are proud of the contribution our organization has done to help students to succeed and we hope to continue well into the future.

The mission of the Quinte Regional Science and Technolgy Fair is to encourage, foster enthusiasm, develop self-confidence, inspire and support an interest in science, technology and engineering for the youth in our area and to provide our students with the opportunity and skills to foster a lifelong love of science.

We are hoping as a committee that you will help to folster this love of science and to help us to provide platform for these students to continue on into the future in science. Please help us.

Science Fairs allow students to meet and learn from experienced scientists and technologists, to discover where new career opportunities exist and to make industry contacts which could lead to a first job. Students who develop in Science Fair projects always agree that they have fun doing the work while learning something new about the world around them. Their Science Fair project work provides an opportunity to extend science beyond the classroom and to take an in-depth look at a topic that is of interest to them personally.

The Youth Science Canada showcase event, the Canada-Wide Science Festival (CWSF) is the largest extracurricular youth activity related to science and technology in Canada. Each year some 450 young scientists are chosen to compete from the top ranks of approximately 25,000 competitors at over 100 regional science and technology fairs staged across the country It costs for five students and 2 delages nearly $15 000 to send them to complete at the National level.
We need you help to support this great students showcarse their projects and allow them an opportunity to compete nationally.
