Quincy Food for Texas

Donation protected
H! I am Harriet Weber, farmer's wife in Quincy, WA. This is an agricultural town that produces many types of crops! As we watch the news coverage, we are moved by the ongoing tragedy and suffering in Texas and Louisiana. Their needs will be great and ongoing. And in our little farming community, we have food they can use - dry beans and apples, specifically. The Houston Food Bank distributes food to the city and all the surrounding small town food banks that are impacted by Hurricane Harvey and subsequent flooding. We ask you to join us by raising funds to ship truckloads of dry beans and apples to Houston. All proceeds will go to pay for the trucking costs and any leftover, directly to Houston Food Bank to buy other food items locally. We are in contact with them directly, and they are anxious for the dry beans (high in protein and stable) and apples (go "like hotcakes, especially for kids"). We have commodity committed and ready to ship. Our farmers, agri-businesses and orchardists are helping make this a reality.
Will you join us to put "gas in the tank" so to speak? We hope to send trucks within a week!
