Help us reclaim financial security!

We are trying to get out from under debt brought about by husband's cancer treatments.

We are a married couple in Connecticut, who do the very best we can to stay on top of things.  We don't have a lot of photos of ourselves, so I've included one of the ones from our honeymoon nine years ago.

Trouble started when my husband was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer, and had to take a leave of absence from work for treatment.  The temporary disability for this took its sweet time in granting us his benefits, and during the long (months-long) wait, we ended up having to accrue some credit card debt to stay on top of our bills.

At around the same time was the economic crash, and his hours were cut, lowering his paycheck by a third, which cut off our ability to repay the credit card debt we had accrued during his leave of absence.  It was all we could do to keep food on the table, and we've spent years limping along on the red line's edge, with minimum payments.

Last year, after a few years of health, (February 2014) the cancer returned.  He has returned to treatment, though thankfully he didn't need another leave of absence due to better treatment options.

However, this has left us with even more medical bills, as the health insurance doesn't cover everything.  On top of that, we are still struggling to recover from the debt accrued during the first battle with his cancer.

We have taken out a couple of loans over the years to try and stabilize ourselves, but with his diminished paycheck, all we keep doing is borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, and we are going in circles.

I suffer from debilitating anxiety disorders, and the stress over our finances is taking a major toll on my health.  The stress of this financial burden is taking its toll on both of us, which is leading to MORE healthcare needed.

We don't want to ask for help, but we need a small hand up.  This site was recommended to me by a friend, so we're giving it a shot.  If you can find it in your heart to donate a small amount to help us regain our footing, we can take it from there!

Thank you so much in advance, and I wish all of you the very best of blessings.
