The Brown Family
Yesterday, Kathleen Brown lost her husband in a tragic accident, and her sweet girls lost their father. As most of you know, Kathleen has been a part of our school family for over a decade. Her dedication to her course and to her students is unwavering. She cheers her students in the classroom and on the fields, courts, and alleys of their extracurricular activities. She sponsors our Bowling Team and just last week-end attended the Boys’ Bowling State Competition. She helps with graduation simply because she cannot wait to watch her seniors walk across the stage to begin their new journeys. Please consider a donation to help Kathleen with the cost associated with this tragedy.
We are in awe at the love and support that you have offered! Thank you so much for everything that you have already done.
Unfortunately, we received some bad news today. In addition to Katie being docked for the days off that she is taking to grieve the loss of her husband, the district has decided that she does not qualify to receive the $10,000 spouse life insurance benefit that she has been paying into for the past eleven years. This, in addition to his life insurance benefit being lower than anticipated, has added additional financial stress on Kathleen.
We ask that anyone who is able to help support our friend, collegue, and mentor to please help us ease this burden that has been placed upon her. Any help would be so appreciated in helping her be able to plan for the burial of her beloved spouse without being unduly burdened financially.
The goal amount has been changed to reflect the loss of the insurance benefit which Kathleen had been counting on for funeral expenses.
