Courtney's Birth and Hospital Stay

My name is Chanda. I am a first time mother, and my little girl is expected to deliver around May 23rd. She is retaining too much fluid on her brain and it is causing some issues. I am going to have to deliver her in Augusta at the Children's Medical Hospital where they will be doing surgery to implant a shunt. There will be many trips back and forth to the hospital afterwards to make sure that things are draining as they should be.

I am looking at a minimum of a 3 week stay there. I am hoping that the Ronald McDonald House will have a room available so that we do not need to pay for a hotel for that amount of time, but travel is expensive and there will be a lot of it in the coming months.I am required to get myself there, continue to eat,support my growing baby and continue to pay bills at home. I have almost enough time saved at work to do one but not all of the things that need to be done. I work full time as a 911 dispatcher in my local community for the last 10 years. 

I have never asked for help of this kind, I generally take care of myself and my needs. But this time, the need is greater than I can handle. In this day, family and friends can only do so much, volunteer to give and help so much since they have their own lives to take care of.
