UNFILTERED - Exhibition

Donation protected
How do people represent themselves? How do they feel when they are being objectified? How does it feel to be subjected to an indefatigable gaze? The exhibition Unfiltered examines these questions over the course of three durational performances.

I believe that it is essential that we pay artists and performers for their work, and for this I need your help!

In our current society, dominated by social media – where we document all our exciting activities and strive to gain the most likes – we are constantly obsessed with finding ways to present ourselves in the best possible light or literally in the best possible filter. Is it then still possible for our bodies to be ‘unfiltered’? Every installation will engage with the theme of representation and question the modes of looking and being subjected to a gaze.

This performative exhibition will take place for three weeks from August 25 until September 9, 2017 at EnclaveLab in Deptford, with three episodes of durational performances.

Women Looking Bored, Holding Photos of Women Looking Bored by Emily Perry

The performance artists, Emily Perry and Colette Patterson, are either still in the process of finishing a Fine Art degree or have recently graduated; they are emerging artists in the context of London.

Although this project receives funding from the Goldsmiths Annual Fund, we need your support to make both fair artist compensation and the exhibition display happen!
