Help!! Honeymoon disaster... :(

We just got married.. yay!! It's been really awesome and after working for a couple of weeks we finally have our so wanted and also needed Honeymoon..
We chose one of the most awesome places on earth, BC's west coast... it doesn't get more romantic than that right?
We decided to take with us our best companion in all our adventures, our awesome doggie friend Freddy. It wouldn't be the same with out him!
Also we brought with us all kind of things to make music, books for reading and of course a tandem kayak with all the gear.. is all about fun and adventure.. we planned to visit Tofino, have romantic dinners, kayak around Uclulet, hit the tatoo shop, get a massage, hike trails with Freddy...
But... on our way to Uclulet and after visiting the wonderful forest at Cathedral Grove ; just when we were passing Port Alberni, our awesome Bowen car broke down...
It was quiet shocking!! And scary too.. the vehicle made a big boom.. a really loud huge explosion sound! We thought it was gonna catch fire,
The car stopped working, we had to pull the e break to slow down from going about a 100 km on the highway and we manage to pull over on the side... we got off quickly, and got Freddy out.. and wait there for any other explosion or flames... buy nothing else happened.
The car didn't start. Plain dead. Nothing worked and we had to tow it. We brought it to Uclulet. We had already a reservation here (with a no refund cancellation policy) and not too much cash to pay again for another hotel in Port Alberni.
So we drove with the tow truck all the way with freddy, music and kayak gear and a big sac full of hopes that everything will be ok, we had to stay positive.. at the end it is our honeymoon!
Today we still remain positive, even though the reality is that we are stranded in Uclulet, with limited cash, a dog, kayak, music gear, in a hotel that is not what was advertised (mold on the ceiling, dirty dishes, furniture in rough shape and nice view to the parking lot :/ ) and no way to go back home. But we still want to stay positive, we are sure one day we will laugh about all this.. one day...
The mechanic has assessed the vehicle and will cost close to $1,000 to repair or perhaps more.. he suggested is not worth fixing, the car is done. And we have to tow it away to Port Alberni for scrap. Which is $300.
A car rental will charge big fees because of the dog and the drop off fee...
We can't take a bus or a cab back because of the dog and kayak...
So it looks like our only hope is to find and buy a cheap vehicle around here that can take us back home.
And even though we planned to be here only for three days, we might have to extend our stay to find a vehicle and hopefully do some of the fun things we planned.
We are trying to salvage our honeymoon and get us all back home to Bowe safely.
