My name is Margit Banczik and I am turning to you in an effort to find help and assistance for my son,
Balazs Varga who is 34 years of age.

On May 5th, 2013 he was taken to the hospital with chronic heart failure and dilated cardiomyopathy. He was informed that he would need surgery to repair and help his failing health, which meant he had to stay in the hospital for 6 weeks.
During this term at the hospital, his body began to shut down and his health began to severely deteriorate; he was constantly short of breath, he could not eat, his hair and nails stopped growing and only the Iv kept him alive. When he was finally transferred to the Royal Victoria Hospital his liver and kidneys had stopped functioning.

The family was told that the next 24 hours were critical and that we should be prepared for any and all outcomes, all depending on how he reacts to the treatments. Thankfully, by God’s grace, he was given another chance and he reacted positively to the medications and treatment.
He was cleared to have open-heart surgery on the 18th of June, 2013, which involved mitral valve repair and aortic vale replacement. This went well and he has been on medication ever since.

He was scheduled for a final major test to assess his heart’s condition and to configure all future procedures a year and half after his major surgery, which took place in December of 2014. The test results were not as promising as everybody hoped for. His life was still in danger on a daily basis with his heart functioning at 20% capacity instead of the aspired 50 – 60%.
The only solution to save his life was to implant a life support system into his heart consisting of a pacemaker and a defibrillator, which happened on March 18, 2015.

Before his illness came to light, he was studying fitting and welding. To attend this program and school, he took on a government loan. Unfortunately, due to his physical state, Balazs could not finish his studies, even though he only had to complete his internship to receive his diploma.
He has been unable to work for 2 years because of his physical situation and doctor’s orders, and now will be unable to complete his diploma, nor will he be able to work in the field of his choice as a welder because of the life support system implanted in his heart. However, his loan still needs to be paid back, no matter the circumstance.
This is a nearly impossible task for him, since he has not been able to work and still does not have permission to work following his latest surgery. It is unclear when he will be able to work and with what restrictions.
I ask you kindly for your generosity and to please help Balazs, my son pay back his debt. He would just like to get back on his feet, put his life together and have a fresh start to life with a clean slate and be happy once again, with a fulfilling life and a bright outlook for the future.
Together we can make a difference.
I thank you ahead of time for your attention and kindness.
Sincerely, a concerned and thankful mother,
