Help our Odyssey of the Mind team travel from Yuma, AZ to World Finals from May 25-29, 2016 in Ames, Iowa.
Your monetary or in-kind support will be put to good use! We welcome cash donations, or items for our fundraising events, or opportunities for the team to earn funds for travel.
Our students have worked very hard to be in a position to compete at the Worlds level, including taking first in their division at State. They are hardworking students, athletes, musicians, and artists, and they will be very grateful for any support they get.

Meet the East Valley Cre8tive Kids team: Christian, Quentin, Abbey, Emma, Mary, Liza and Nathan. Seven students from 2 local high schools, freshman – juniors.
About Odyssey of the Mind (OM):
- OM is a journey, not a destination
- Teaches divergent, independent thinking
- Uses classroom skills to solve complex problems
- Iowa Core Curriculum & 21st Century Skills thinking
- Encourages STEM thinking
- Team developed & directed
About the competition:
Our team is competing in Stack Attack (Problem #4). They have a limit of $145 in materials they are allowed to spend, so they do a lot of recycling, upcycling and repurposing.
This problem requires teams to design, build, and test a structure, made only of balsa wood and glue that will balance and support as much weight as possible--twice. During weight-placement, teams can "Attack the Stack" where they will remove all of the weights except for the bottom one and the crusher board. Teams will also receive score for removing weights! After Attacking the Stack, the weight placement process can be repeated to add to the total weight held. Teams will incorporate weight-placement
