Justice for Anthony Heffernan

Anthony Heffernan was shot and killed by the Calgary Police on March 16, 2015. The Calgary Police were called to the Super 8 Hotel for a "wellness check". Five cops went to the 4th floor hotel room. They told the paramedics that also arrived to the hotel to stay in the lobby. According to the Calgary Police, they tried to communicate with Anthony for 40 minutes. Then the five armed officers kicked down the door, 3 of them having their guns armed and two having tasers in hands, they escalated the situation by yelling and screaming at Anthony to cooperate. Anthony was non-communicative but was able to have both arms above his head, with one hand holding a needless diabetic syringe and the other a small bic lighter.  One officer tasered Anthony, Anthony was knocked down onto the bed, flaying his arms he removed the taser from his chest. According to the police's inconcistent testimonies, Anthony either moved slightly forward or took a step foreward which caused another officer to deploy another taser round, simultaneously the 'subject officer' fired six times at Anthony and hit him in the chest, in the neck, and 2 exit wounds through the head. The 5th bullet hit the floor and the six bullet went through the opposite side of the wall from Anthony, narrowing missing two police officers and going through the adjoining rooms window.

We need your support to pay for the expenisve legal fees which we will incur over the next few years.  We have been informed that this will be a lengthy battle against the Calgary Police. We don't want this to ever happen again to anyone in Calgary or Canada.
