Robbie's Liver & Kidney Transplant!

To all of Robbie’s beloved family and friends, as most of you know Robbie’s journey through life has been long and hard. He has come to know a life of struggle, pain and endurance as he battled through cancer, car accidents and many other things. Although Robbie is a fighter and has faced his challenges with dignity, grace and a loving smile, he is now facing the hardest fight of his life, he is fighting FOR HIS LIFE!
This past Monday, he was brought into the hospital by his mom, Carrie, after being sick for a few weeks. Not knowing what was happening or what was wrong, the prognosis was less than hopeful. He came in with complete liver failure and only 10% kidney function and by Tuesday night the doctors and nurses were giving him only days to live. The family was beginning to prepare for their goodbyes while holding onto a small miracle.
Through the power of prayer and the magic of love from all of his friends and family, Robbie was given a miraculous shot at life. Wednesday he was accepted to UCSD’s transplant program for an evaluation that would give him the possibility of receiving a liver transplant, the only shot he had to live. Although the cards were stacked against him, he went through the rigorous testing and evaluation process at UCSD and by another miracle he was accepted as a candidate for a liver transplant and put at the highest priority.
Being the fighter that Robbie is, he is continuing to fight for his life in ICU and is now waiting for another answered prayer for a positive donor match. While God has blessed him and his family by getting this far, the battle and fight are long from being over. Time is not on his side. While the news over the past few days has been positive and moving in the right direction, he is still in critical condition and the journey is still unknown.
