Todd Bates road to recovery❤

We are so grateful for God allowing Todd to get sick with strep throat last year, which led us to go to Next Level Urgent Care on Katy Fort Bend Rd.. Todd saw Dorothy Colon, PA at Next Level Urgent Care Clinic!!! Thank you Dorothy, for taking your time with his exam, listening to Todd, carefully listening to his breath sounds and making that all important decision, to x-ray Todd's chest. It's because of your professional dedication, Todd is alive today! You discovered the masses in his lungs. Thank you Dorothy! We are grateful, God Almighty put all the right people in our life at the right times. God has plans for us. Todd's ex-employer stopped paying him 4 months before they fired him. He was still employed there, they just chose not to pay him; his salary, bonuses and benefits. Why? Todd has cancer. We found out his employer canceled his insurance when we showed up for his $17,000 chemo treatment. Talk about shocked!!!! We almost lost our home, could not get Todd's prescriptions or treatments, almost lost our cars, got way behind on all our bills and literally were scraping for food. Why did they fire him? Discrimination. Todd never stopped his loyalty or busy pace at work. Todd continued to make money for his boss yet his boss only cared about his greedy needs. His boss promised to not fire Todd, to continue his same salary and benefits, to hold his job for him no matter what and to never cancel our insurance. He lied. He promised to pay Todd for months backpay and months of bonuses. He lied. Why? Because Todd got cancer. His ex-employer had our insurance cancelled a few more times. We have to pay for cobra insurance now which is better than the alternative. We can continue his cobra insurance and pray his ex-employer will not intercept our payments and to forward them to BCBS in a timely manner. Todd never missed a day of work. Todd never took a lunch break. Todd never took a vacation. Todd loved his job. He was their biggest money making manager. Todd continued working those hours without getting paid, while sick because his boss kept promising to fix everything. He lied. We were devastated when Todd was let go over the phone. The very first day he missed work was to get his 1st chemo treatment. It didn't matter that Todd warned them ahead of time and gave them doctor notes. Todd's boss told him, "your absence is bringing the morale of other employees down.". Really?That's the day he was replaced. No warning. Cancer is rough enough, the stress his ex-employer put him through caused Todd's body to go into sepsis and was hospitalized for almost a week. Todd is alive today because of God's protection and favor. Thank you God! We are grateful for everyone praying for Todd to not only survive but to champion this nasty battle.
