CJ Proctor's medical fund

For anyone that knows CJ and Kaleah, you will know that they are the salt of the Earth, some of the nicest people you will ever meet. As some of you may know, CJ Proctor recently graduated as a peace officer from the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy. He currently works in Hanna, Wyoming at the Hanna Marshalls Office.

On the night of Friday September 18, CJ was traveling home from a hunting trip on Elk Mountain. CJ was driving down the 2 lane highway when all of the sudden he spotted a semi trailer parked in the middle of the road. The semi did not have working lights or reflectors.  As a result, CJ had no warning, slamming on his breaks, CJ skid 60 feet and slammed into the rear of the semi at 60 mph. The vehicle crash was so violent that it wedged CJ's truck underneath the rear axel of the semi trailer. After realizing the crash occured, the semi driver started driving and drug CJ in his crumpled vehicle approximately 10 feet. After the semi driver dislodged CJ and his truck, like a piece of road debris, the driver sped off with out rendering first aid. Thank God CJ was wearing his seat belt. Realizing he had been left alone, CJ tried to move but quickly found that he had suffered 2 compound fractures in his right leg. Fearing for his life, CJ found his phone and called emergency services to report the accident. 30 minutes after the crash, the ambulance arrived and transported him to Rawlins. After the doctors in Rawlins evaluated his injuries, the decision was made to transport him to Cheyenne. Saturday morning CJ underwent a 3.5 hour surgery to repair the compound fractures. CJ now has 2 metal rods and a plate in his right leg. Jessica and I were fortunate enough to visit CJ in the hospital, however it was very difficult to see him experiencing excruciating pain. CJ stated that his recovery could take anywhere from 6 months to a year before normal walking. His greatest fear is that this accident could end his career in law enforcement.

CJ is expected to be in the hospital for another week before he can go home. His wife Kaleah continues to stay by his side. As you can imagine, their medical bills and loss of wages continue to grow every day. Please join us in supporting our fellow brother in blue. If you can't help financially please send him your prayers for a speedy and full recovery. Also, please pray for the law enforcement who are searching for the driver and vehicle that was responsible for this horrific crash. Please pray that this driver is brought to justice. Thank you for your prayers and support!
