PJSTRONG!

I would like to share PJ’s story with you.  In some way as I share this
journey and as he heals I pray he will be inspiration and healing to
others.  I have to admit this journey has been rough and I’ve felt pretty
alone at times.   I also feel extremely blessed to still have my son
with me here.   My hope is we find comfort in the support of each other
as we go through the valleys in life and share our joys and triumphs. 

On December 4th, 2018 my son PJ was hit by a Dart Rail Train while
walking too close to the tracks.  He was rushed to Dallas Presbyterian
Hospital in Dallas Texas and was not expected to survive. When I got the call I was floored and devastated.  My son was unrecognizable, but not
to me.  At that moment my world would never be the same!

He has been through so much and stayed so strong.  The hospital staff
was wonderful! They kept me TOGETHER when I thought I would
crumble! Miraculously, he made it out of the Trauma Unit on Christmas Eve.  PJ was our Christmas Miracle!

As you can imagine it has been a rough road.  He was sent home on a
wing and a prayer on January 26th.  We have been back and forth to the hospital as he heals from a traumatic brain Injury.  Severe seizures are
scary! 

PJ can walk, but cannot hold a normal conversation and his eye sight was affected, but not his spirit.  He is all here!   At 22 years old he has
had his life turned upside down!  My life has been turned upside down!
The challenges sometimes seem unsurmountable.  I know with all the
support and prayers of many coupled with his strength, courage and
positivity he will not only survive, but thrive again!  I believe in miracles!

Right now I'm in need of financial help to support my son PJ through his
healing journey from a traumatic brain injury.  Taking care of PJ is 
full-time job right now that doesn't allow me time to earn a
sufficient income.  I am his primary care-giver and only financial
resource.

We are still waiting on SS disability and medicaid to kick in, but until then we have needs that must be met. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
