Smile for DJ

Dj, Dyrell Roberts Jr., is the beautiful son of Hillary Gomez and Dyrell Roberts Sr. He was born on November 11th in to a very loving and large family. As he was born early it was anticipated that he would be going to the NICU, however there were other things that we were not prepared for. DJ could not breathe on his own, and as they ran several tests to determine why we all patiently waited and prayed for answers and cures. As the doctors ran their tests they determined that he had more symptoms besides his inability to breathe. Eventually they disagnosed this beautiful perfect baby with Moebius Syndrome. Moebius syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that is present at birth. It primarily affects the 6th and 7th cranial nerves, leaving those with the condition unable to move their faces (they can’t smile, frown, suck, grimace or blink their eyes) and unable to move their eyes laterally. Our sweet  and handsome DJ now has a trach tube to help him breathe and the doctors are hopeful that he will eventually grow out of needing it. However he has many surgeries he has to go through to help him perform everyday tasks that people would not normally even think about, including smiling. Dj will also need at home care, although he does have insurance these are things that require a great deal of money and we would love to give Dj his best shot at a wonderful life.  Medical is covered but there are added expenses to make dj's home ready for him to come home with the vent.  

There will also be a fundraiser for DJ on May 31st 2015, at Cypress Creek Golf Course hosted by his wonderful God Parents, Jordan Eason and Christina. It is called Dyrell Roberts Jr Golf Tournament. It includes, food, 18 holes, cart, range balls and shirt for $80. There will a small auction as well.
