Diz and John's Heat and Water

Donation protected
Hello,
my name is John and on Christmas morning 2015, shortly after opening gifts, I suffered a major stroke that knocked out the entire right side of my body. It was a devestating blow for me. You see, it wasn't just the stroke. It was also not being able to go to work every day. I'm the site manager for our local senior center and I pretty much live paycheck to paycheck. I usually manage my bills very well but because of the stroke I felt extremely cold and needed to have my heat on quite a bit longer than I usually would. Piling blankets on just didn't do it. Sitting up against a portable heater did. I knew that doing this was going to cost me but it was worth it at the time. It helped in my comfort and my healing. I am now improving each day. I am in physical therapy once a week and I'm getting stronger every day and soon I will be back to work. My duties require me to use both arms and legs in order to do the job properly. I am still walking with a cane and have a few more therapy sessions to do before my therapist and doctor will let me return to my job, which is waiting for me once I'm capable of doing it physically. My bills have gotten away from me. I'm afraid they're going to turn off my electricity and water. My partner Diz is working like a mad man to keep up with our monthly rent and keep food in the house but that leaves nothing for the monthly bills. Since I was a teenager, I have held a job and paid my own way. I'm proud of that. My parents taught me responsability at an early age. Alas, none of it does any good once you slip into a debt hole. And that's what has happened. I'm not one for holding out my hand and asking for someone elses hard earned money. And I know that I will be back to work soon. I just don't know how to get back on track financially on my own at this time. It's so scary. So, I have decided to swallow my pride and ask for help from anyone. I don't want to lose my residence and I know I can't live without heat and hot water. Any help you can send my way would be wonderful. Reading the other GOFUND ME posts, I realize my position is minimal compared to others, but it's a frightening time for me right now. It's my own nightmare.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
