Put a Roof Over Our Heads

Hi, my name is Dawn Gerth Psilos.  I've been baking and preparing food since I was a kid.  After some years of baking and selling at farmers markets, we purchased a downtown Crystal Lake storefront built in the 1950s that has always been the downtown area's bakery.  After much renovation to bring the building up to code and make it a comfortable meeting place, we opened Le Petit Marché, in March of 2005.

Surviving the Great Recession took all our resolve and what was left of our savings and now the shop's old, flat roof is truly in need of replacing. The good part is, I got a tremendous quote from a roofer/friend that makes it feasible. The bad part is we have no capital.


We all would love to get rid of the buckets and patch the holes and fix the paint once the new roof is finished! As an added bonus, the roofing material is white and will reflect the heat, reducing our air conditioning bills!  I know there are so many worthy causes out there, but we will be so grateful if, with your help, we can reroof our store.
