Puerto Rico Hospital Patients

My father is one of hundreds of US residents currently stranded in hospitals throughout Puerto Rico as a result of hurricane Maria. In his case, he was in the island burying his beloved wife when he suffered a paralyzing stroke. We were fortunate to connect with him and coordinate a trip to pick him up October 5th. Other veterans in the same hospital have not been so fortunate.

I am asking you to partner with me to connect veterans and other patients in nearby San Juan hospitals with their families in the US. This support is NOT for me. I will be fully self sufficient. It is for the rental of a satellite unit that will allow communications between patients and families in the absence of cellular phone reception. This has been a tremendous problem in arranging flights and transportation to airports. I plan to move to other hospitals outside of San Juan as time and logistics allow.

Unused donations will go to the American Red Cross disaster relief fund under the "where it is most needed" option of the donation page. This GoFundMe page will close October 31 to encourage your direct support of other similar efforts.
