Dear friends,
10 years ago today I was attacked in a parking lot in front of my children and this experience began a journey that has changed me and my children forever. We no longer shy away from difficult subjects. Our compassion for others has grown. We are less afraid.
Since September 15, 2007, I have been writing a book, The Little Girl Is Me, which confronts difficult topics, such as violence and racism, as well as difficult events, those events that send you whirling into a new orbit where you have to dig your feet in to find new footing.
I am ready to publish my book and am partnering with Balboa Press, a division of Hay House Press, to do so. The initial costs of publishing my book are more than my family can afford right now, but I feel an urgency to publish this book, which focuses so much on having tough conversations, especially during a time in our country's life when having difficult discussions, in order to heal and move forward, is vital.
As a result, I have decided to try a gofundme campaign. Even a few dollars will help me reach my goal. I can't wait to share my book with you and am always free to talk and have the difficult, worthwhile discussions that make a difference in this world. Thank you for being such a beautiful, safe community. So many of you have engaged with me in this process of inquiry, and it has made all the difference.
