PTSD Service Dog for Tricia

Donation protected
Most of us met the beautiful creature named Big Wooly Mammoth at WSP shows over the last three years. But I’ve had the privilege to know his ‘mom’ Tricia Williams since 1999. She’s always been a tried and true friend, a beautiful example of living life on her terms, and a generous soul willing to give you the shirt off her back since the day we met which was at the panic shows at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida April in 1999. We made an instant connection and began our lifelong friendship. We now talk regularly on the phone, meet at least a few times a year at panic shows, and value our time together.

Tricia is a veteran of the United States Army. She served our country for six years and now suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). For those of you not familiar with PTSD it can result in debilitating outward symptoms that make it difficult to complete daily tasks, work and/or enjoy time with family and friends. This is where Big Wooly came to Tricia’s rescue. Wooly was Tricia’s rock and she was his purpose.  They were a perfect fit. Tricia devoted countless hours to Wooly’s training and official service dog certification. And as a result, Wooly blossomed as her unwavering support companion. This type of service dog with the ability to be steadfast and travel to many different environments is a financial commitment not covered by her veteran benefits or traditional health insurance. So, that means Tricia personally invested thousands of dollars in Wooly. His health deterioration at the young age of four years old was an unexpected drain on her personal finances. In fact, she’s gone into debt to cover the treatment of his lymphoma to the tune of over $4,000.00. And now with Wooly gone, she’s back to facing her debilitating PTSD and requires a new service dog. That’s where this beautiful community comes into play.

If you have the capability, we are asking for some financial support for Tricia. I’ve been continually blown away at the generosity and overall support given to the various members of our panic family that have faced difficult and life-changing situations. Thank you for considering giving to Tricia’s next service dog. I’m sure you’ll meet him or her at a future panic show. Thank you for taking the time to be part of the most amazing community. Love, light, and panic to you all.
