Help Me Have IVF after Baby Loss

Donation protected

This is myself and my husband, Nikos. We have been trying to concieve since February 2015. I have a son, Antonio, who is almost 12 from a previous relationship. He is my world, Niko is an amazing Dad to him. He has no children of his own and would dearly love to have a child so that we can give Antonio a sibling. Antonio is autistic, he is amazing. He really wants a brother or a sister so that he can play on roblox with them!

On June the 28th 2016, I was having severe pains in my stomach along with abnormal bleeding. We were in Crete at the time. I did a pregnancy test anyway. I wasn't late for my period so didn't expect to be pregnant, However, the result came back positive, so we made an appointment for the same night with a private gynecologist. During the scan I was informed that I was actually 8 weeks pregnant!!!! Sadly, the fetus had implanted in my fallopian tube and my womb was filled with blood, which would explain the abnormal bleeding. I went to hospital that same night, where I passed out and was rushed into surgery. When I came round, I discovered that the pregnancy had ruptured my tube and I had lost the baby as well as 2 litres of blood and needed transfusions. I was told I was extremely lucky, if I hadn't have gone to the hospital that night it was higly likely that I would have bled to death over night.

The next few months were very traumatic as you can imagine. I had to deal with finding out I was pregnant and on the same day, losing the baby and almost my life. It was a lot to take in and I suffered from depression for quite a long time and things were difficult for us all. NIko has been there for me throughout and I couldn't have got through it without his support.

In November 2016 we decided to try again to concieve. Antonio had been asking when was he getting a brother or sister and I would dearly love to give him what he wishes.

Come July 2017 we were still trying. I had had tests done through the hospital which showed that there was no reason why I couldn't concieve. I was ovulating every month, everything looked ok after an ultrasound and Niko's sperm results came back normal. It was suggested by the doctor at the fertility clinic that we were attending that I have a procedure done that would detect the condition of my remaining tube.

On Thursday 3rd August. I went for the rest. Sadly, I was told that my remaining tube was swollen and blocked and I would not be able to concieve naturally. As you can imagine I was devastated. It seemed like such a cruel blow after everything we had been through.

My only hope, now is through IVF. I have discussed it with Niko and we have decided that this is something we would like to try. I really want to give my son the sibling he so dearly wants. It would be amazing for him.

Sadly, I am deemed too old to have the treatment on the NHS, at the age of 44, so our only option is to go privately. We would like to have the treatment done at a clinic in Europe as there is a much higher success rate in then in the UK and the costs are lower.

I am looking to raise in the region of £6,000 which would help towards up to 3 rounds of IVF as well as travel and accommodation costs.

If anyone would like to help support us to make our dream come true, please donate whatever you can and share my post. No, matter how much, it will truly be appreciated. Or, if you cannot help financially, please share my post, I will be eternally grateful.

Love Jules, Niko and Antonio XXX
