Let’s all pitch in and show some heart for “Papa” Ron Bolles’ heart!

On Friday, 3 May 2019, Ron Bolles suffered a massive heart attack and died.

And then fate intervened to save his life.
1. An amazing friend began immediate and sustained CPR and initiated an on-site AED (The heart shock machine.)
2. Sutter Hospital was right down the road and the paramedics were there in five minutes.

His heart was very sick. Ron needed to be on life-support and was in a medically induced coma for days. He required a triple bypass and there were some complications and setbacks along the way.

Now begins the difficult journey back. His Partner Micheline has had to take an unpaid leave from her job. She is living in Sacramento until Ron is well enough to return home to their farm in southern Oregon.

It is a journey made more expensive and complicated because it requires assistance; assistance from doctors, nurses, aides, and therapists at hospitals, outpatient clinics, and therapy rooms requiring medical equipment, mobility equipment, accessibility modifications, and transportation to and from appointments. Whew! It’s overwhelming.

But we can assist, too!

Now is the time to show our support and gratitude for the generosity and kindness Ron has always shown to us. He is the best kind of friend. He is a man who is present, honest, loving, and loyal. He is giving and mentoring, smart and inventive. He is irreverent and funny. He is all kinds of great.

But he is not wealthy.

Ron once shared one of his core philosophies with me:
“It's about loving every part of the process, and having complete satisfaction when you are done.”

The process is not done. He is not done.
