Provide shelter for Claude & Andrea

$1,085 of $17,000 goal

Raised by 25 people in 10 months
A donation of just $10 from 1,700 people will assist Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health (FISH) to provide Claude Carter and Andrea Pindan and their family with temporary accommodation and assist in rebuilding their home following a devastating fire that destroyed their home at Bawoorrooga Community in remote Western Australia. Since then they have been living in a tin shed on their community in the searing heat. FISH have been working with Claude and Andrea to build them a new home which will be the first SuperAdobe earthhouse ever constructed in the Kimberley region. While they are involved in working with FISH to construct their new home, FISH are working to provide them with temporary accommodation on their remote community. It has been established that it will cost $17,000 for transport and establishment of the temporary accommodation that is being donated and also for the roof structure of their new home to be transported. We are seeking assistance from 1,700 people to donate $10 each to enable FISH to provide them with appropriate shelter as soon as possible as their current shelter is not appropriate in the searing heat of the northwest of Australia. We are seeking immediate support to provide them with emergency accommodation and provide funding toward the roof structure on their community as soon as possible. We hope you can join us !

As FISH are a registered charity with the Australian Taxation Office donations over $2 in Australia are tax deductible.

Great to see that we have reached $1,085 of our target of $17,000 as we race to beat the west season and raise the needed funds to get the needed work completed before the rains. The FISH Bawoorrooga Self-build Sustainable Housing and Education Project situated in remote Western Australia 2,800kms from Perth and over 100km from Fitzroy Crossing has been focussed on the involvement and education of young people from the Fitzroy Valley Region. The partnership with the Fitzroy Valley District High School has been part of the outreach process in enabling young people to learn about sustainability and involve them in a sustainable housing intiative designed by the community, built by the community, for the community. FISH - Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health Architect and Trainer Jara ran a sesssion during the last week with the young people from the Fitzroy Valley District High School teaching them about the principles of the SuperAdobe contruction and the benefits of the solar passive design.

We have just reached $995 of our target of $17,000. The video is a thank you from Claude and Andrea for your support. We are now racing against time to complete the wall lining, construction and installation of the roof over the SuperAdobe structure, the extended roof structure over the outdoor kitchen and living area and install the sewerage system before the wet season arrives. Please share this campaign with your friends, family and acquaintances and help us reach the target to fund the work needing to get done prior to the wet season.

Fantastic that we have achieved the first milestone of over $500 with only $16,455 to go. That is only 164 individuals or businesses donating $100, or 329 people or businesses donating $50, or 1,645 people donating $10 each. Please share with your friends, family and business associates so that we can achieve the outcome for Claude and Andrea. The community are already building the foundations for their temporary accommodation and their new SuperAdobe (earth house) home.
Foundations are going in !
Great work Andrea
A hand up not a hand out !
