Prostate Cancer research

Donation protected
In the next 2 months a group of 6 old mates aim to do two things
1. Race a $1,000 shitbox around Winton Motor Raceway; and,
2. Raise a lot of money for Prostate Cancer research in Australia doing it!

The event is called 24 Hours of LeMons - modelled extremely loosely on the famous 24 Hours of LeMans endurance race in France.   Our event is spread over a weekend and has strict rules on buying a very cheap car, fitting it out with regulation safety equipment and getting it round a track for a couple of days.

The Aim of the event is to ultimately raise money for Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.  A large portion of the money we pay in entry and fees goes to this Australian charity, but we also wish to raise what we can individually and as a team.

Our team - TEAM POLIZEI - has secured a 15 year old Audi A4 wagon for $500 and we are curently preparing it for the race.  Updates will be every couple of weeks as we fix this thing up and race prep it.  Once ready for the track we'll be decking this out as an old German Police car (see pic above).

Three very important facts;
1. In Australia, prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in men.
2. More than 3,000 men die of prostate cancer in Australia every year.
3. More men die of prostate cancer than women die of breast cancer.

Awareness is the key to fighting Prostate Cancer.  If you are male and over 50 (or over 40 if you have family history) you MUST be regularly checked. This disease is usually treatable is discovered soon enough. See your GP or health advisor regularly.

Our event is over the 22-24 April and a quick look at the website shows its an event less-centered around racing and more around fun and fundraising.  Check it out at https://24lemons.com.au/ .  All profits find their way to Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

We are asking you to put your hand in your pocket and throw some loose change or a pineapple or two our way to help us support a great cause and to raise awareness for this shitty disease.
