Proof of Life film

In June 2015, three days before I was to enter my first 50k trail run, I, Brad Thiessen, instead found myself being wheeled into the operating room to have a brain tumor removed (my 2nd tumor and third cancer in 15 years). What was supposed to be a six-week recovery turned into an 18-month study in how things can go sideways.

The 12- to 16-minute documentary “Proof of Life” will tell the story of my journey back to health, starting from the end of chemo treatments in December 2016 and culminatin in a 50k trail run on September 9, 2017.

The goal is that it will help those who have come through cancer to set goals and work through the trauma that accompanies the journey, and inspire all viewers to make the most of the life they've been given.

The film is being made by Spokane-based film-maker Adam Harum , who is winning awards at film festivals in Spokane, Seattle and Portland and beyond (so far) and gaining a solid reputation for his documentaries and short-form films.

The film will raise funds and awareness for Cancer Can't . It will be submitted to national and international trail running and independent film festivals, and screenings have already been arranged in numerous locations throughout the Northwest.
